The “Cheltenham Roar” on day 1 of the festival is something to behold, but this year’s roar will truly be sending shivers down the spine of the bookmakers.  Champion Irish trainer Willie Mullins has four red-hot favourites today, and if all four were to win, bookmakers will lose hundreds of millions. Both Ladbrokes and William Hill have reported “unfavourable” sporting results at the beginning of the year but today will not only set the tone for the rest of the week but possibly the rest of the year! From what I’ve seen before the share price of companies such as William Hill and Ladbrokes, don’t really react to such sporting events on such an instant level, but I do wonder if today could be different.  The first race is set to start at 13.30, with the last of the “fab 4” running at 4pm.

Good Luck
